Are you ready for McKesson ideaShare 2021?

Starting at 10 am CST on September 14, the 38th annual McKesson ideaShare brings together 2,000 independent pharmacies to virtually unite, learn and grow their businesses. McKesson ideaShare 2021 will provide opportunities to:

Unite

Community pharmacy teams will join together virtually to support, strengthen and sustain the future of independent pharmacy.

This will be anchored by a pair of general sessions led by McKesson and Health Mart leaders, who will honor the role that community pharmacies played in pandemic response and will discuss major trends impacting retail pharmacy.

A public policy session with panelists from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will focus on critical issues including provider status and DIR fee reform.

Learn

McKesson ideaShare will host 25 virtual educational opportunities, the majority of which will be led by pharmacists. In addition to general sessions and roundtables highlighting some of the most important topics affecting community pharmacies, educational sessions at ideaShare include:

  • 12 CE sessions on hot topics such as pharmacy advocacy, 340B, HIV, long-term care pharmacy, advancing pharmacy technicians, seizing opportunity . . . and more!
  • 9 Pharma Talk sessions. Similar to TED talks — but developed specifically for independent pharmacy — each Pharma Talk is a 20-minute engaging talk by an expert in an important area, such as social media, advocacy, relationship building, safety, contractual rates and medical billing issues.

For example, join Kentucky pharmacy owner, musician and marketer Easton Bryant who will share insights on how to use social media platforms to build your brand and grow your business. Hear from McKesson VP of Public Policy Fauzea Hussain on the value of advocating for patients and the profession of pharmacy, both locally and nationally. Tune in as Health Mart Atlas’ Emily Flaugher provides a deeper level of understanding of PBM contractual effective rates.

In Pharma Talks, each expert will provide a short, intense look on topics that matter to independent pharmacies.

Whether you are a pharmacist, owner or technician, these learning experiences will provide valuable knowledge and help develop important skills. Pick those sessions that are most important and relevant to your pharmacy and your role—it will be time well spent.

Grow

The ultimate goal of uniting and learning is to help independent pharmacies turn new ideas and takeaways into action items that can grow their business throughout the year. For years, McKesson ideaShare has equipped independent pharmacies with practical, proven ideas to drive growth. This year is shaping up to be no different.

Why McKesson ideaShare is so important

To hear it from past participants, McKesson ideaShare is a massive opportunity to come together.

“Each year—and most importantly this year—our pharmacy teams need to step back and develop the profession, together,” Josh Borer, Pharm D, pharmacist and owner of Rex Pharmacy said. “Following the public health challenges of the past year, it’s imperative we prioritize our education and networking so we can powerfully shape the future of community pharmacy for the better.”
